Con los años la ECCA ha definido una serie de métodos de prueba muy útiles para todas las personas interesadas en comprobar las cualidades del metal lacado. En 1995 se creó un Grupo de Trabajo de la Comisión CEN TC139 apoyado y patrocinado por la ECCA, que ha establecido, a partir de las pruebas de la ECCA, la norma europea EN 13523 (comprende más de 25 partes).
A continuación se indican los métodos de prueba publicados hasta la fecha o en preparación:
